Every summer he spends the holidays in a beach house with his brother Steven and his mother Laurel. The beach house is the home of Susannah, her mother’s childhood friend. There, every summer, there are also Susannah’s children, Conrad and Jeremiah.

Liessel discovers the pleasure of reading and experiences the horrors of war. It is not the first book on the Second World War, but it is one of the most original that has been written. The thief tells how the lives of those who lived the Second World War go as normal people who tried to continue with their lives.

In Sombras we meet Valeria, a teenager who comes to a small town in the mountains, Bline, wanting to start a new life. The town seems idyllic, but Valeria soon discovers that there is something dark about it.
