Natural Breeding Needs A Dose Of Flexibility

You may like natural parenting to raise your children, but in this case, it is good to be flexible.
Natural breeding needs a dose of flexibility

When we think of natural parenting, we have cloth diapers, breastfeeding, and organic food in mind, but it involves so much more. This type of parenting, also known as gentle parenting, mindful parenting, and attachment parenting, focuses on responsiveness and awareness to meet your baby’s needs.

While many new parents set out to be 100% natural parents, the unexpected is sure to happen and upset your plan. It is important to know why a mother or father defines themselves as a ‘natural father’ and has learned to be flexible in the best interest of their child.

Natural breeding

In natural parenting what matters is to be in constant growth and learning, adapt to situations and learn from other parents, so that they are things that feel good for oneself and for others, whether it is considered as ‘natural parenting’ or not. Although it is a parenting philosophy that you like, you also need to have a realistic approach.

If you want to be a natural parenting parent, then it is important that you be flexible and keep a few things in mind. We are going to comment on some of them so that you can include them in your life from now on.

Each situation and child will require different commitments

It’s easy to establish rules and plans before facing the reality of a baby living, breathing, crying, and defecating under your constant care. But that baby will need your help to feel safe, loved, and secure, no matter what you have planned.

Maybe you were against your baby wearing a pompadour, but it’s okay if you decide to give him a pacifier in situations where your little one can’t breastfeed or to stop him sucking his thumb. It’s better for your child to feel calm and secure than just meeting your natural parenting expectations at all costs. In the case of the pacifier, for example, he will leave it as soon as he feels safe enough without it.

It is also possible that you allow your children to spend more time in front of the television, much more time than you thought you would be able to give up. You may have started parenting with cloth diapers, but by the time you have three children, you may not be so interested in this anymore and prefer disposable diapers. It’s okay too and you don’t have to feel bad about it.

You may be aware with the time of the purchase that you have to do so that your little ones have a good diet. Possibly, you continue to buy organic products, but what matters is that the things you do always do for the good of your children and not just for your thoughts. If your children need medical attention and medications, it is irresponsible to deny them because of an ideology.

There are things you can keep

Although your natural upbringing is more flexible, you can have your own thoughts that are not negotiable and that you can maintain. For example, you may be betting on not letting your baby cry so that he learns to sleep on his own. This  is fine because your little one needs you; needs your love and your warmth.

You can also be against punitive discipline, and that’s okay; your children need to grow up with parents who understand and respect them above all else. Similarly, if you want to breastfeed your children as long as you want, you can also do it no matter what.

Although, if you can’t breastfeed, if you have to give formula milk or supplement with formula bottles, breastfeeding is fine too. You will be doing what is best for your baby.

Never shame, belittle or treat your children badly. They don’t need that. In natural parenting, intuition is very important and, in this case, they are non-negotiable things that your children need to be able to grow up in a good environment, an environment full of love, affection and parents who care about them at all times. They need to feel safe in their family.

If you do your best with your children, then you should know that you will be doing the right thing. The best way to help anyone else is to be an example. Let your experience with certain parenting styles speak for itself.
