1. A classic: the chocolate cake

We start with the king of sweets, the favorite of children and adults: chocolate. The recipe we have chosen is one so simple that they could even prepare it themselves and the result is spectacular.

Ingredients:

  • 100 g of chocolate for pastries.
  • 3 eggs
  • 9 tablespoons of sugar.
  • 60 g of butter.
  • 2 tablespoons of flour.

preparation:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180ºC to have it ready while you make the mixture.
  2. Melt the chocolate : For this you will have to chop it and then either put it in a water bath or put it with a teaspoon of water in the microwave.
  3. Monitor and stir the chocolate with a wooden scoop to prevent burning and to ensure that it melts evenly.
  4. Once it has tempered, add the sugar, melted butter, flour and the yolks of the three eggs.
  5. Bring the yolks to the point of snow and add it to the rest of the mixture.
  6. Grease the mold with butter and pour the mixture.
  7. Bake for half an hour at 180ºC.

Once desmoldes and let it cool, you can decorate it with sugar icing , fondant or colored sparks.

2. Strawberry cheesecake (and no oven)

If you don’t want the little ones to have contact with the oven, we have the solution. One of the most successful cake recipes for children without the need to bake. It also contains strawberries in its composition. These foods contain significant amounts of vitamin C, which has been shown to be beneficial in optimizing immune function.

Ingredients:

  • 200 g of  Philadelphia cheese or similar.
  • 500 ml of cream or milk cream.
  • 40 g of sugar.
  • 1 sachet of unflavored gelatin powder (7 g approx.).
  • 150 g of Maria cookies.
  • 75 g of butter.
  • 500 g of strawberries or any other fruit you want to cover it with, such as raspberries, blueberries or blackberries.

    preparation:

    1. Crush the cookies : you can put them in a bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
    2. Melt the butter  and mix it with the cookies until you get a homogeneous mixture.
    3. Cover the bottom of a removable mold with this paste and press with the help of a spoon.
    4. Put it in the fridge for 15-20 minutes. Meanwhile, mix the cream, gelatin and sugar and put it over very low heat without stopping stirring until everything dissolves and avoiding a boil.
    5. Remove from heat and add the Philadelphia cheese, mixing well.
    6. Pour the mixture over the mold with the cookie base and once it is warm, put it in the cold for 6 hours.

    When you unmold it, add the fruit topping and voila!

    3. Red velvet: a classic in a vegan version

    We want to take everyone into account, so we also offer you cake recipes for children who do not consume any product of animal origin: vegan.

    This preparation has in its composition fruits with a high content of phytonutrients with an antioxidant character. According to a study published in the journal Antioxidants , the anthocyanins in red fruits help prevent the development of diseases.

    Ingredients:

    For the cake:

    • 500 ml of vegetable milk (almond, oatmeal, rice, soy, etc.).
    • 1 coffee size cup of oil.
    • 500 g of flour.
    • 250 g of sugar.
    • 1 sachet of yeast.
    • The water resulting from boiling a couple of beets.

    For the filling and topping:

    • 250g  vegan cheese spread.
    • 90 g of vegetable margarine.
    • 100 g of icing sugar .
    • 150 g vegan whipping cream .

      To decorate: red berries.

      • Raspberries
      • Blackberries.
      • Strawberries.

      preparation:

      1. Mix the dry ingredients on one side  (flour, sugar and yeast) and the milk (about 12 ml of the reddish water from the beets) and the oil on the other.
      2. Incorporate and stir until you obtain a homogeneous dough without lumps.
      3. Grease a mold and pour the mixture into it to bake for 40 minutes at 180ºC. Then let it cool down to room temperature or in the fridge.
      4. Mix margarine  with sugar glass and add cream cheese.
      5. Mix everything and add the whipped cream. Stir again until all the ingredients are incorporated.
      6. Now that the sponge cake is cold, cut it into three slices and alternate the cream with a sponge cake.
      7. Use a cat’s tongue to cover the entire cake with cream and make the surface look smooth.
      8. Decorate with the fruit and enjoy!
